The Story of South Coast Community Services

In 1984, South Coast Community Services (SCCS) was founded in order to fill a critical role in creating a safety net in local communities. SCCS found that most communities in the area had needs that were simply unaddressed. There were no options for shelter, care, therapy and other essential services that those who are abused, neglected and underprivileged as youth and children often need but don’t get. For 36 years, SCCS grew and expanded in order to provide premium mental health services to the communities in Orange County and San Bernardino County. You’ll find our services in homes and clinics as well as community programs.

You Have Options

Each year, we serve over 5,000 kids, teens, and adults. If you’d like, you can become a part of our mission.

It's a Tough Job

Our jobs are not easy jobs. These positions cry out for people with a special calling, ones with a deep love for others. We are tasked with meeting the urgent needs of some of the most vulnerable people in our community. The work can be heart-wrenching and rewarding at the same time. Really rewarding.  We call our staff Super Heroes and we challenge you to find out why. If you believe you have that special calling, we would like to meet you.

Culture

We have an upside down Org Chart. That is, the Executive Team serves Program Management, and they serve the line staff and support personnel. The Executives are here to empower everyone else at SCCS, and we all serve our community. We are a Client-Centric agency. Everything we do is with the people we serve in mind.
Supervisors are highly supportive. They won't coddle you. They will challenge you to be better at your craft and they will help you get there. Don't expect a "participation trophy"—this is serious work and our Super Heroes literally save lives. The most important role of our management is to support and empower you to help others in need. We strive to give you a work environment that is comfortable and efficient so you can focus on our mission—to provide others with the care they need.

Benefits

We offer competitive compensation and benefits. Full-time employee benefits include paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, medical & dental insurance, and a retirement plan. Opportunity for advancement is substantial—most of our directors and managers have been promoted from within.
