Understanding Neuropsychology

Neuropsychology is a specialized field that explores the intricate relationship between brain function and behavior. At South Coast Community Services, our neuropsychology testing delves into cognitive processes, emotions, and their connection to neurological structures. Understanding how the brain influences thoughts and actions can provide comprehensive insights into your mental health.

The Neuropsychological Assessment Process

Our neuropsychological assessment is a systematic and thorough process designed to uncover the nuances of cognitive functioning. Beginning with an initial consultation, we conduct standardized tests, interviews, and behavioral observations. This multifaceted approach allows us to understand better your mental strengths and areas that may need attention.

Do You Take Health Insurance?

We are a private pay clinic and do not work directly with insurance companies for neuropsychology testing at this time.

All services are paid for by the patient (not the insurance company) at the time of service. If you have an HMO and do not want to pay out of pocket for services, you must find a provider within your network. If you have a PPO plan, you still pay for the services upfront; however, most PPO plans will cover a percentage of services out-of-network. If you choose to use your PPO out-of-network health benefits, we will provide you with a receipt of services (this is called a “superbill”) that includes all information needed to submit a claim to your insurance company. Your specific insurance plan is not guaranteed to cover the services provided. Insurance companies will typically reimburse services a licensed professional provides, not interns. If you are planning on using your out-of-network benefit, please make sure to let us know ahead of time so we can set you up with the right provider.

If you want to ask your insurance provider about the reimbursement rate for specific services, you can simply give them the CPT codes below, and they will tell you what they will reimburse for each service. Compare your reimbursement rates to our rates per unit to determine the difference. Your insurance provider may also ask for a diagnostic code. You can use the same ICD diagnostic codes included below.
